Redlands – The California Miramar University Fighting Falcons baseball team opened their season this past weekend against Christian Community College. The young Fighting Falcons squad came up short as they dropped both games 8-5 and 17-6. Although the games did not go their way, some promising bright spots shined.

Senior Jose Lopez recorded four hits (two in each game) and two runs batted in. On the basepaths, CMU had three players swipe multiple bags. Robin Murry (Sr), Aaron Brooks (Sr), and Mark Hasson (Fr) each stole two bases apiece.

When asked about his team’s opening series, Head Coach Jesse Quintero said “With us not being able to practice very much due to COVID-19 restrictions, we played a lot better than expected. With our young roster, we see a promising future.”

The Fighting Falcons look to rebound in their next games against CCC later this week.
