With great pleasure, we are announcing that California Miramar’s baseball team won the Pacific Regionals Playoffs this past weekend.
It was nothing but exciting baseball playoff action from Friday to Sunday evening. On Friday evening, CMU won handily by beating Grand Canyon University 13-3. Then 9am Saturday morning CMU lost a close game to the Stanford team 6-5 – losing in the last inning. The team then turned around and played again at 1pm against Grand Canyon University (who had just beat Arizona State to stay alive in the tournament) and CMU again beat them 15-3. Saturday was full of ups and downs, leaving a must win Sunday morning against Stanford in which CMU came out swinging being down 2-0 in the first inning proceeded to beat Stanford 12-7, setting up the championship game at 1pm. Both teams came out swinging! Stanford took a 13-5 lead into the 3rd inning and then CMU answered with a 10 run inning and never looked back winning 26-15 and thus winning the Pacific region and representing the whole Westcoast in the College World Series next weekend in Kansas.
Great job to coach Jesse and the CMU baseball team did an amazing job this season. And it’s not over yet, we’ll see you in Kansas!!! Bring home the World Series trophy 🏆!
